As a caterpillar burrows away among the layers of their cocoon a transformation begins, at this stage they are a chrysalis. It is a transitional state during which they slowly morph into the final stage of their lives: butterflies. When they emerge from the intricate casing layers flake away as they push their way out.

This process was the catalyst that inspired this collection. I was particularly drawn to unique chrysali and butterflies such as the golden cocoons of Mechnitis Polymnia and the wings of glass wing butterflies. Floaty silk gazaar and organza encase the body like a cocoon while laser cut leather boldly pops like the lines on butterfly wings. The garments combine figure hugging sensual lines and larger, encasing sheer layers. The collection centers around a core philosophy of transformation, nature and glamour.
